Spanish Pastor Mark Schuler

Pastor Mark and Susan Schuler have dedicated their lives to spreading the Gospel through full-time Spanish ministry for nearly two decades. Their remarkable journey began in 2005, when they first committed to this specific mission field.

For eighteen years, the Schulers poured their hearts and souls into ministry in Honduras. During this time, they were instrumental in establishing a strong, lasting foundation for Christian community, successfully starting both a Baptist church and a Christian school. Their work in Honduras involved not just preaching and teaching, but also intensive community building, discipleship, and practical support, fostering growth in both faith and education.

In 2023, Pastor Mark and Susan returned to the United States, bringing their wealth of experience, spiritual depth, and passion for Spanish-speaking communities with them. Since their return, they have been focused on a vital new mission: establishing a vibrant Spanish ministry at Smyrna Baptist Church.

Through their leadership, this ministry has quickly become active and growing, serving the local community and continuing the Schuler’s long tradition of ministry excellence. Pastor Mark and Susan continue to use their deep understanding of cross-cultural ministry to connect with and serve Spanish speakers, making a significant impact on the spiritual life of Smyrna Baptist Church and the surrounding area.

Bus/Children's Ministry Director

Daniel Camara was born in Liberia, West Africa, during the nation’s fourteen-year civil war. Having lost several family members during the conflict, he and his family fled to neighboring Guinea, where he was raised in a home influenced by both Islam and Christianity. These early experiences sparked a lifelong desire to understand truth and to know God personally.

In 2003, Daniel moved to Accra, Ghana, where consistent Christian influence began to shape his faith. After immigrating to the United States in 2006, the Lord continued directing his life. Though offered a professional soccer opportunity at sixteen, a career-ending injury redirected his path and opened his heart to God’s calling.

While attending Champion Baptist Academy, a ministry of Mainland Baptist Church, Daniel gained a clear understanding of the Gospel. In September 2010, after reading a Gospel tract titled Are You Sure?, he accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior

Daniel attended Crown College of the Bible, majoring in Missions, and later earned a Master of Divinity from Pensacola Theological Seminary. His burden is to reach the lost, including those navigating the same religious confusion and spiritual searching he once faced.

Daniel serves as the Bus and Children’s Ministry Director at Smyrna Baptist Church in Pensacola, Florida. His ministry emphasizes: Outreach to families and youth, Discipleship and spiritual growth, Community engagement, Teaching biblical truth with clarity and compassion

Daniel also serves as a Chaplain, First Lieutenant, in the United States Air Force Reserve, assigned to the 2nd Bomb Wing at Barksdale Air Force Base, Louisiana. He provides spiritual care and religious support to Airmen across the 2nd Maintenance Group. He received his direct commission on May 14, 2024, and is endorsed by All Points Baptist Missions.
