First time visitor? Don’t worry

WHAT TO EXPECT

Visiting any church for the very first time can make anyone a little nervous.  Where do I go?  What do I wear? What time do I show up?  What’s here for my children?  What can I expect?  These and many more questions can come to your mind.  Well, we want to put you at ease.  Your want your first visit to Smyrna Baptist Church to be refreshing, friendly, and enjoyable for your whole family.  We want you to experience friendly people, inspiring music, helpful preaching and teaching, and a place where you feel welcome and “at home!”  Here are a few answers to your questions about what you might expect on your first visit.

What’s the morning schedule?

Our Sunday morning worship service begins at 11:00. (This service is a little over one hour in length.)  If you can make it an hour earlier, we also have a complete Sunday School program for all ages each Sunday morning 9:45-10:45.  Following the morning worship service, Pastor Adams would like to personally greet you and thank you for visiting us.  Once you arrive on our campus and make your way into the church foyer, you will be warmly greeted by one of our ushers that will be able to help direct you to where you need to go and answer any questions that you may have.

Where do I take my children?

Starting with excellent nurseries, there is something special for children of every age.  At every service there are safe, clean, and highly staffed nurseries for children three years old and under.  For children four years old through the twelfth grade there are fun Bible-centered classes available.  These classes are staffed with trained, friendly, and well-qualified teachers and helpers who will make church exciting and memorable for your child.

How should I dress?

While we do not have a specific dress code, we do believe that going to church is a time of meeting with someone important (both God and His people). Because of this, we try to look our best and exemplify modesty but don’t be afraid to come if you don’t have a suit! We love people and will be glad you came!

Do I have to participate in the offering?

No.  We do not invite you to church for your offering.  We want our service to be agift to you.  We hope you will find in this place a warm family spirit, truth from God’s Word, and a place where you can grow in God’s grace.  Please don’t feel any obligation to participate in the offering as a guest!

Other questions?

If there’s something we missed on this list, just give us a call, or ask someone when you arrive.  Whether you’re new to the area and looking for a church home, or if it’s been a long time since you’ve attended church at all, we hope your first visit at Smyrna Baptist Church will be a great experience!  We are here to serve you and your family, and we are looking forward to meeting you personally.  We hope you’ll feel right at home from the very first moment you step onto campus!  Let us know how we can serve you better, and we hope to meet you this Sunday!
