Daily Bible Study

Bible Reading:Exodus 28-30

In these chapters, God is continuing to instruct Moses on how He wants His people to grow. In chapter 28 God specifies the clothes He wants the High Priest to wear. Note how specific the LORD is with detail. If anyone uses the phrase, “God doesn’t care” they are lying! It doesn’t matter what they say after that, GOD CARES! The details matter to God! How you look, where you go, what you say; it all matters to God and the one who doesn’t think so is out of touch with a Holy God.

Not only does God care about the priest’s presentation (how he looks), He cares about his preparation (what he’s done). Exodus 29 details the cleansing and consecration of the Priests. (Christian, keep this in mind…YOU are the priest today!)

1 Peter 2:7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvelous light:

All of the sacrifices and offerings were illustrations of the work of Christ in securing our forgiveness and eternal home with God. None of the sacrifices could save a lost sinner, there was only ONE sacrifice that could do that and that was the sacrifice of the Son of God on Calvary. As the song states, “Only Jesus can satisfy your soul for only He can change your heart and make it whole!!”

Hebrews 10:4 For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.

Then there was incense. Incense represented the prayers and praise of God’s people. The Scripture indicates that God would smell the sweet smelling savor and be pleased.

And with this today, we are caught up on our regularly scheduled reading of God’s Word. From this point on, I will place the passage we will be commenting on at the first of the Daily study. You can access the Bible for reading and reference by clicking on that reference. What’s more, you can have that passage read to you by again clicking on the reference. Have a great day and may God richly bless you.
